Energizing Green Grape Smoothie with Mint

Lately, I’ve been back to consuming green smoothies on a regular basis, and have been reaping all of the benefits. When you go an extended period of time knowing your body isn’t functioning on the same level it used to, you know you have to change something before you get stuck. Thankfully, I’ve been digging myself out of groggy zombie mode with a little help from my green friends, spinach and kale.

I don’t claim to know what’s good for you and what isn’t, or believe there is any special diet or lifestyle that is the correct way of living, because I don’t know, nobody does. If we were all born with handbooks on life, I think the world would be far less interesting.

One thing I do know, is that when I eat spinach and kale, I feel good, I have more energy and am more focused overall.

Energizing Green Grape Smoothie with Mint

Recently, I bought the freshest, greenest bunch of mint at the Farmer’s Market that I’ve ever seen. It managed to last a week, getting used in salads, ice cream, dressings, and now, smoothies. Keeping with the green theme, I threw in some avocado, spinach, kale, and green grapes (although red grapes worked well too.)

Energizing Green Grape Smoothie with Mint

A creamy smoothie is my favorite way to start off the day, especially when it contains frozen banana. Do you have any ingredients that you always like to add to your smoothies everyday?

Ingredients
  1. ¾ cup Green Grapes
  2. 1 frozen Banana, cut into chunks
  3. 1 cup Almond or Coconut Milk
  4. 1 cup baby Spinach, packed (or spinach/kale combo)
  5. ¼ of an Avocado
  6. 1 Tbsp ground Flax Seeds (optional)
  7. 1 Tbsp Hemp Hearts (optional)
  8. Few Mint Leaves
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

  1. Hi Nicole, love these pictures and your smoothie is making me feel healthy just looking at it. Nicoletta and I have been on a smoothie kick as of late, and we have to agree we feel much better. It is true that we can’t be the end all be all of health advice as it will vary from one to another. I think the best way is to feel for yourself. As you said you have more energy and fell much better you must be doing something right!
    The flavors of this smoothie are interesting but the addition of the mint and avocado has my interest and it looks just lovely. Great work on this post and recipe.

  2. I also tend to make the same smoothie everyday, and it usually includes blueberries. I’ve never thought of using grapes, but why haven’t I? I need to do a change up and swap out the blueberries for grapes. Sounds (and looks) delicious.

  4. Grapes add a delicious, sweet touch to any smoothie. I love that you added mint, too. It sounds like a very yummy smoothie and the pics are beautiful. Greens and bananas make regular appearances in most of my smoothies, along with a little flax oil for a good dose of omegas.
