Ingredients

  • 0.3 cup brown sugar packed
  • tablespoons butter softened
  • 0.5 cup coconut flakes flaked
  •  eggs 
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar 
  • tablespoons milk 
  • 0.3 cup nuts chopped
  • tablespoons shortening 
  • teaspoon vanilla 
  • 1.5 cups baking mix original bisquick®

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 9-inch round cake pan or 8-inch square pan. In large bowl, beat Bisquick mix, granulated sugar, 1/2 cup milk, shortening, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed 4 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  2. Pour into pan.
  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool slightly.
  4. In small bowl, mix coconut, brown sugar, nuts, butter and 2 tablespoons milk.
  5. Spread topping over cake. Set oven control to broil. Broil about 3 inches from heat about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
