Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup firmly torn basil fresh packed
  • 28 oz canned tomatoes crushed canned
  • cup cooking wine dry red
  •  garlic cloves chopped
  • lb ground sausage italian
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • large onion chopped
  • ounces pancetta diced
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper dried red crushed
  • cup ricotta cheese 
  • oz mozzarella cheese shredded divided
  • 12 ounces ziti pasta uncooked

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Prepare ziti according to package directions for al dente.
  3. Meanwhile, cook pancetta in a large skillet over medium-high heat 3 minutes.
  4. Add onion and garlic, and saut 3 minutes or until onion is tender.
  5. Add sausage, and saut 5 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
  6. Add wine, and cook 3 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and next 3 ingredients. Reduce heat to low, and cook, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes.
  7. Stir ricotta and 1 cup mozzarella cheese into hot cooked pasta. Lightly grease a 13- x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  8. Transfer pasta mixture to prepared dish, and top with sausage mixture.
  9. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly.
