Ingredients

  • cup beer 
  • tablespoons butter 
  • ounce chiles green chopped canned
  • 16 ounce blocks cheddar cheese shredded
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • servings bread french cubed sliced
  •  garlic clove chopped
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground pepper red
  • 0.5 pound sausage meat 
  • cups milk 
  •  onion chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Cook ground pork sausage in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it crumbles and is no longer pink.
  2. Drain and remove sausage from pan.
  3. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat; add onion and garlic, and saut until tender.
  4. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
  5. Add cheese, stirring until melted.
  6. Remove from heat; stir in sausage, beer, and next 3 ingredients.
  7. Transfer to a fondue pot or slow cooker; keep warm on LOW.
  8. Serve with cubed French bread or sliced pears.
  9. *Nonalcoholic beer may be substituted for regular beer.
