  • 0.8 cup sugar 
  • tablespoons sugar 
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • cup whipping cream

Directions

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan; whisk in egg yolks and milk. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  3. Pour into a serving dish; cool. Cover and chill 2 hours.
  4. Beat whipping cream at medium speed with an electric mixer until foamy; gradually add 2 tablespoons sugar, beating until soft peaks form.
  5. Spread over custard. Top with fresh blackberries; garnish, if desired.
  6. Prep: 15 min., Cook: 7 min., Chill: 2 hrs.
