  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 12 ounces baker's chocolate cut in very small pieces
  • large eggs 
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • 2.5 teaspoons sea salt divided
  • 10 ounces butter unsalted at room temperature
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • cup tsp vanilla sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together onto a piece of waxed paper the flour, the soda, and one half teaspoon of the salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter and the sugar until it is light and pale yellow.
  4. Whisk in the eggs one at a time until thoroughly blended.
  5. Whisk in the vanilla, then stir in the flour just until it is blended.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips or pieces and mix until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
