Ingredients

  • 0.3 ounce yeast dry
  • 1.3 cups milk (110° to 115°)
  • 0.3 cup butter softened
  • large eggs room temperature
  • tablespoons sugar 
  • teaspoon salt 
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • serving butter melted

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk.
  2. Add the butter, egg, sugar, salt and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch dough down and divide in half. Divide each half into 36 pieces and shape into balls.
  6. Place 3 balls in each greased muffin cup. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  7. Brush with additional butter.
  8. Bake at 375° for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned.
  9. Remove to wire racks.
  10. Serve warm.
