Ingredients

  • 1.3 cups bisquick original baking mix all-purpose
  • 31 ounce cannellini beans rinsed drained canned
  •  carrots sliced
  • 14.5 ounce chicken broth canned
  • large eggs lightly beaten
  •  garlic cloves pressed
  • 0.5 cup milk 
  • small onion chopped
  • 16 ounce sausage smoked sliced
  • tablespoons teaspoons thyme dried fresh divided chopped

Directions

  1. Brown sausage in a 10-inch deep-dish ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 4 to 6 minutes.
  2. Remove sausage, and drain on paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet.
  3. Add onion, carrot, and garlic; cook, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in sausage, beans, and chicken broth. Reduce heat, and simmer mixture 6 minutes. Stir in 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme, and remove from heat.
  5. Stir together baking mix, milk, egg, and remaining 1 tablespoon thyme with a fork until moistened.
  6. Pour dough evenly over top of sausage mixture in skillet.
  7. Bake at 400 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
