Ingredients

  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • ounces bread baguette french toasted ()
  • ounces mission figs dried chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon rosemary fresh chopped
  • 10 ounces goat cheese crumbled
  • 0.3 cup orange juice fresh ( 1 orange)
  • teaspoon orange rind grated
  • 0.3 cup orange sections coarsely chopped
  • 0.3 cup sugar 
  • teaspoons walnuts finely chopped

Directions

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until figs are tender. Uncover and cook 5 minutes or until mixture thickens.
  2. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
  3. Preheat broiler.
  4. Top each bread slice with 1 1/2 teaspoons fig mixture and 1 1/2 teaspoons goat cheese. Arrange bruschetta on a baking sheet; sprinkle evenly with walnuts. Broil 2 minutes or until nuts begin to brown.
  5. Serve warm.
