Ingredients

  • slices bacon 
  • 0.3 cup catsup 
  • 0.8 pound freshwater fish fillets 
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • 0.7 cup non-fat milk powder dry instant
  • tablespoons onion finely chopped
  • teaspoon salt 
  • 3.5 cups water divided

  • slotted spoon

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in a skillet until crisp; drain bacon, reserving drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon, and set aside.
  2. Saut onion in bacon drippings until tender; remove with a slotted spoon, and set aside.
  3. Saut fish in remaining drippings until fish is lightly browned.
  4. Remove fish from skillet, and cut into bite-size pieces.
  5. Combine bacon, onion, catsup, and 1/2 cup water in skillet. Simmer 5 minutes.
  6. Combine flour, milk powder, salt, and remaining water in a medium saucepan, stirring well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in fish mixture. Cook until thoroughly heated.
