  • 0.5 teaspoon peppercorns black crushed
  • 0.5 cup self-rising cornmeal white
  • ounce cream cheese softened
  • tablespoons green onion chopped for garnish
  •  juice of lime juiced
  • tablespoons mayonnaise 
  • 16 ounce pickled okra drained
  • servings vegetable oil; peanut oil preferred for frying
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.8 teaspoon salt 
  • cups self-rising flour

Directions

  1. Heat the oil to 350 degrees F in a deep skillet or fryer.
  2. Combine the Fry
  3. Mix with the beer.
  4. Add the okra, coating it in the batter. Fry the okra, about 4 pieces at a time, turning the pieces frequently, until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
  5. Transfer the okra to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  6. Serve immediately with the Creamy Chipotle Sauce.
  7. Whisk together the flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper. Store in an airtight container in the pantry until needed.
  8. Blend the cream cheese, mayonnaise, chipotle, lime juice, and salt in a food processor until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until needed.
  9. Garnish with green onions.
