Ingredients

  • 0.3 cup bread crumbs fresh
  • tablespoons butter divided
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • tablespoon parsley fresh snipped
  • 16 oz green beans frozen french-style cooked
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon zest 
  • 0.5 cup milk 
  •  onion sliced
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • oz cup heavy whipping cream sour

Directions

  1. Cook onion slices and parsley in 2 tablespoons butter until onion is tender.
  2. Blend in flour, lemon zest, salt and pepper. Stir in milk; heat until thick and bubbly.
  3. Add sour cream and beans; heat through. Spoon into an ungreased 2-quart baking dish; sprinkle with cheese. Melt remaining butter and toss with bread crumbs; sprinkle on top of beans. Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat source for 3 minutes, or until golden.
