  • teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup milk fat-free
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • 0.8 cup granulated sugar 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • tablespoons cocoa unsweetened
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 1.5 cups water hot

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup, and level with a knife.
  3. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir in milk and vanilla extract. Spoon the batter into a 9-inch square baking pan.
  4. Combine brown sugar and 3 tablespoons cocoa, and sprinkle over cake batter.
  5. Pour water over batter (do not stir).
  6. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched in center.
  7. Serve warm.
