  • tablespoons sugar 
  • 1.5 teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • cup buttermilk 
  • 0.3 cup canola oil 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  •  egg whites
