  • tablespoons cooking wine dry red
  • teaspoons garlic minced
  • teaspoon olive oil 
  • cup onion chopped (1 medium)
  • 1.5 ounces parmesan cheese fresh grated
  • 12 ounce recipe crumbles frozen burger-style
  • 10 ounces pasta like spaghetti uncooked
  • 26 ounce tomato and basil pasta sauce (such as Classico)

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; saut 4 minutes.
  3. Add crumbles; saut 5 minutes or until crumbles are completely thawed.
  4. Add wine and pasta sauce; reduce heat to medium low, and simmer 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Stir in spinach, and simmer 4 minutes or until spinach wilts.
  5. . While sauce simmers, cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat.
  6. Serve sauce over hot cooked pasta, and sprinkle each serving with cheese.
