  • tablespoons butter softened
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground mustard dry
  • 1.3 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground allspice 
  • 0.8 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves 
  • 0.8 teaspoon ground ginger 
  • 0.3 cup blackstrap molasses 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper white

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Weigh or lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife.
  3. Combine flour and next 8 ingredients (through allspice), stirring with a whisk.
  4. Place molasses, butter, and sugar in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at high speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Add flour mixture; beat just until blended (dough will be crumbly). Divide dough into 4 equal portions.
  6. Place each portion on a sheet of wax paper; cover with plastic wrap.
  7. Roll each portion to a 1/8-inch thickness. Freeze 10 minutes; remove plastic wrap.
  8. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch round cutter.
  9. Place cookies on baking sheets coated with cooking spray.
  10. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes or until edges of cookies are browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheets.
  11. Remove from baking sheets; cool completely on wire racks. Repeat procedure with remaining dough.
