  • cup brown sugar 
  • 0.5 cup butter softened
  • 0.7 cup buttermilk 
  •  eggs 
  • 1.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice 
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.8 teaspoon nutmeg 
  • cup raisins 
  • 1.5 cups rolled oats 
  • 0.5 cup walnut pieces chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice; stir into the sugar mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
  4. Mix in the oats, walnuts and raisins. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
