Ingredients

  • leaf toppings: almonds fresh shredded toasted sliced chopped
  • tablespoons butter divided
  • cups chicken broth 
  • cups meat from a rotisserie chicken cooked chopped
  • 12 oz farfalle pasta (bow-tie)
  • 0.3 cup flour all-purpose
  • oz mushrooms fresh quartered
  • cups milk 
  • medium onion chopped
  • oz parmesan cheese shredded
  • teaspoon pepper 
  • medium size bell pepper red chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Prepare pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, melt 2 Tbsp. butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper; saut 5 minutes or until tender.
  3. Add mushrooms; saut 4 minutes.
  4. Remove from Dutch oven.
  5. Melt remaining 3 Tbsp. butter in Dutch oven over low heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk; cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.
  6. Stir chicken, sauted vegetables, and hot cooked pasta into sauce.
  7. Add cheese, pepper, and salt.
  8. Serve with desired toppings.
