Ingredients

  • 12 oz bread loaf french
  • teaspoon onion flakes dried
  • oz mushrooms fresh quartered
  •  garlic clove minced
  • 0.5  bell pepper green finely chopped
  • 19.5 oz turkey sausage italian
  • tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • oz mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15.5 oz spaghetti sauce 
  • tablespoons tomato paste 

Equipment

Directions

  1. Cook sausage in a Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring often, 10 minutes or until meat crumbles and is no longer pink; drain.
  2. Add mushrooms and bell pepper; cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, 5 minutes. Stir in next 5 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 40
  4. Cut bread in half lengthwise.
  5. Place bread, cut side up, on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake 5 to 6 minutes until toasted.
  7. Spoon sausage mixture onto toasted bread, and sprinkle with cheeses.
  8. Bake at 400 for 5 to 7 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Note: For testing purposes only, we used Jennie-O Sweet Lean Italian Turkey Sausage.
