Ingredients

  • 12 slices bread french (3/)
  • cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup butter cubed
  •  eggs 
  • servings ground cinnamon 
  • 1.5 cups milk 
  • 29 ounces peaches drained sliced canned
  • tablespoon vanilla extract 
  • tablespoons water

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the brown sugar, butter and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish; top with peaches. Arrange bread over peaches.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and vanilla; slowly pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  4. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover and bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Uncover; bake 25-30 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center of French toast comes out clean.
  6. Serve with a spoon.
