Ingredients

  • teaspoon baking soda 
  • cup butter softened
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk 
  • cup coca-cola soft
  • large eggs lightly beaten
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • cup roasted peanuts chopped
  • 1.8 cups sugar 
  • 0.3 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Combine cola and buttermilk in a 2-cup measuring cup.
  3. Beat butter at low speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until blended.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; beat at low speed just until blended.
  5. Combine flour and next 2 ingredients in a medium bowl.
  6. Add to butter mixture alternately with cola mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended after each addition.
  7. Pour batter into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch pan.
  8. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes.
  9. Meanwhile, prepare Peanut Butter Frosting.
  10. Pour over warm cake.
  11. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
