Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract 
  • 0.5 teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • cup butter softened
  •  eggs 
  • 2.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.7 cup raspberry jam melted
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 cup slivered almonds toasted
  • cup sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and almond extract.
  3. Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat until blended.
  4. Spread in an ungreased 9" x 9" pan; smooth the surface.
  5. Spread jam on surface.
  6. Sprinkle almonds over jam.
  7. Bake 20 minutes or just until edges are golden. Cool, then cut into 1 ½-inch squares.
