Ingredients

  • 16 oz pasta like spaghetti 
  • tablespoons olive oil 
  • 0.5 cup onion chopped
  • medium bell pepper red chopped
  • lb ground beef 80% lean (at least )
  • 0.3 cup sugar 
  • oz taco seasoning 
  • 28 oz canned tomatoes with basil, undrained organic crushed canned
  • oz tomato sauce canned
  • 11 oz corn whole with red and green peppers, drained canned
  • 4.5 oz mushrooms drained sliced
  • serving parmesan cheese grated

Directions

  1. Cook and drain spaghetti as directed on package; cover to keep warm.
  2. Meanwhile, in 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion and bell pepper in oil 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  3. Remove from skillet.
  4. Add beef to same skillet. Cook 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
  5. Add onion and bell pepper to beef; mix well. Stir in sugar, taco seasoning mix, tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn and mushrooms.
  6. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve over spaghetti.
  8. Sprinkle with cheese.
