  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 0.5 teaspoon bourbon 
  • tablespoons butter divided softened
  • large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1.5 cups buttermilk fat-free
  • ounces flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 teaspoon lemon rind grated
  • teaspoons blackstrap molasses 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 1.3 cups cornmeal yellow

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 42
  2. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife.
  3. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.

  5. Place an 8-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven for 5 minutes, and remove from oven.
