  • cloves garlic minced
  • small bell pepper green cut into 2-inch long strips
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground pepper black
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • tablespoons olive oil 
  • large onion sliced cut in half and
  • teaspoons parmigiano-reggiano cheese grated
  • pound pork sausage sweet italian cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 24 ounce spicy sausage sauce prego®
  •  rolls hard

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes or until well browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour off any fat.
  4. Add the green pepper, onion and salt and black pepper to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes or until the vegetables are tender-crisp, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the garlic and cook and stir for 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in the sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through. Divide the sausage mixture among the rolls and sprinkle with the cheese.
