Ingredients

  • large eggs 
  • 0.5 cup flour all-purpose
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar 
  • servings powdered sugar 
  • 1.5 pounds plums rinsed
  • 0.3 cup mirin sweet
  • 0.1 teaspoon salt 
  • tablespoons butter unsalted melted
  • tablespoon vanilla 
  • cup milk whole

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 32
  2. Butter a shallow 2-quart baking dish.
  3. Cut apricots off pits into 1/4-inch-thick wedges and drop into a bowl.
  4. Add wine and mix gently.
  5. Let stand 5 minutes.
  6. In a blender, combine eggs, milk, granulated sugar, flour, melted butter, vanilla, and salt; whirl until smooth. With a slotted spoon, transfer fruit to buttered baking dish.
  7. Pour remaining wine and juices into egg mixture and whirl again to blend.
  8. Pour egg mixture over fruit.
  9. Bake clafouti in upper third of the preheated oven until puffed and set to the touch in the center, 55 to 65 minutes.
  10. Serve warm (clafouti will settle slightly as it cools).
  11. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top just before serving.
