Ingredients

  • 1.3 cups baking mix whole-wheat
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk 
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground allspice 
  • ounces sweet potatoes and into 
  • tablespoons butter unsalted chilled cubed

Directions

  1. Wrap sweet potato in a paper towel.Microwave on high until soft, 4 minutes.Scoop flesh into a bowl and mash; setaside.
  2. Heat oven to 400°F.
  3. Place biscuit mixand butter in a bowl; rub butter into mixwith fingertips until large pea-sizedcrumbs form.
  4. Add sweet potato, buttermilkand allspice; mix until just combined.
  5. Transfer dough onto a cookie sheet andform into a 12" x 4" rectangle.
  6. Cut into 8rectangles with a serrated knife and separateslightly.
  7. Bake until biscuits are firmto the touch, 8 to 10 minutes.
