Ingredients

  • 56 oz canned tomatoes crushed canned
  • 1.3 cups breadcrumbs plain dry
  • large eggs 
  • 0.3 cup parsley fresh finely chopped
  •  garlic clove finely chopped
  • 1.3 pounds pd of ground turkey lean
  • tablespoon olive oil extra virgin extra-virgin
  • 0.5 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 0.8 cup parmesan grated
  • servings salt 
  • pounds turkey sausage crumbled

Directions

  1. Warm olive oil in medium skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add half of garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring, about 30 seconds.
  3. Scrape into slow cooker and stir in tomatoes, 3/4 tsp. salt and oregano.
  4. Combine turkey, sausage, bread crumbs, cheese, eggs, parsley, remaining garlic and 1 tsp. salt in a large mixing bowl. Blend ingredients with your hands. Form into 2-inch balls and place in slow cooker. Spoon tomatoes over meatballs to cover.
  5. Cover and cook on low until cooked through, 4 to 5 hours.
