Ingredients

  • tablespoon baharat spice mix 
  • large garlic clove pressed
  • tablespoons juice of lemon fresh
  • tablespoons olive oil 
  • 0.5 cup onion grated
  • 0.3 cup parsley fresh italian coarsely chopped
  • 0.7 cup pistachios unsalted shelled coarsely chopped
  • servings wholewheat pita breads 
  • 1.3 cups pomegranate seeds 
  • 0.5 cup greek yogurt plain greek-style
  •  chicken breast halves boneless skinless halved lengthwise
  • 0.3 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)

Directions

  1. Combine lemon juice, Baharat Seasoning, and garlic in medium bowl; stir to blend.
  2. Let stand 5 minutes.
  3. Whisk in yogurt and tahini. Season tahini yogurt to taste with salt. DO AHEAD: Can be made up to 2 hours ahead.
  4. Let stand at room temperature.
  5. Mix all ingredients in medium bowl. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. DO AHEAD: Can be made 2 hours ahead.
  6. Let stand at room temperature.
  7. Whisk first 4 ingredients in large bowl.
  8. Add chicken.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Marinate at room temperature at least 1 hour and up to 2 hours.
  10. Preheat broiler. Thread 6 chicken pieces onto each skewer.
  11. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  12. Place on small rimmed baking sheet. Broil chicken until cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes per side. Arrange kebabs on platter.
  13. Serve with tahini yogurt, pomegranate relish, and warm pita breads.
