The star of this recipe is the beautifully puffed pastry, filled with savory ham and crisp asparagus, all drizzled with a homemade hollandaise sauce. The pastry base, made from a combination of butter, water, cheese, flour, and eggs, bakes to a golden brown perfection, providing a crispy contrast to the tender asparagus and the richness of the hollandaise.

To ensure the asparagus is perfectly cooked, we blanch it in boiling water before arranging it with thinly sliced, julienned ham in the center of the puff. The hollandaise sauce, made from a mix that's easy to prepare, adds a creamy, buttery flavor that ties all the elements together.
