Ingredients

  • 2.5 ounce bacon pieces cooked (such as Hormel)
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 1.3 cups grape tomatoes halved
  • ounces pasta uncooked
  • teaspoons olive oil 
  • 0.5 cup onion chopped
  • teaspoon oregano dried
  • ounce preshredded parmesan cheese fresh
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat.
  2. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
  3. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add onion; saut 2 minutes.
  5. Add bacon bits; saut 2 minutes.
  6. Add tomato, garlic, and oregano; saut 30 seconds.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add pasta, reserved pasta water, salt, and pepper. Stir well, and cook 1 minute or until thoroughly heated and liquid is absorbed.
  9. Remove from heat; cover and let stand 3 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle with cheese.
