  • pound beef top sirloin steaks boneless
  • tablespoon vegetable oil 
  •  garlic clove finely chopped
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.7 cup beef broth flavored (from 32-ounce carton)
  • tablespoon cornstarch 
  • tablespoons water 
  • tablespoon soya sauce 
  • teaspoon ground ginger finely chopped
  • ounces snow peas frozen chinese thawed drained ()
  • serving rice hot cooked

Directions

  1. Trim fat from beef.
  2. Cut beef with grain into 2-inch strips; cut strips across grain into 1/4-inch slices.
  3. Heat 10-inch skillet or wok over high heat 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add oil; rotate skillet to coat with oil.
  5. Add beef and garlic; stir-fry about 3 minutes or until beef is brown.
  6. Sprinkle salt and pepper over beef; stir in broth.
  7. Heat to boiling.
  8. Mix cornstarch, water and soy sauce; stir into beef mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Continue boiling 1 minute, stirring constantly (sauce will be thin).
  9. Stir in gingerroot and pea pods. Cook uncovered about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pea pods are crisp-tender.
  10. Serve over rice.
