Ingredients

  • 24 ounce ale canned
  • 23 ounce all-natural apricot nectar canned
  • 0.5 cup flour all-purpose
  •  garlic halved
  • pounds lamb shanks 
  • 0.3 cup olive oil 
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper 
  • servings potatoes mashed
  • servings rosemary fresh
  •  rosemary leaves fresh
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt

Directions

  1. Dredge lamb shanks in flour; brown on all sides in hot oil in a large skillet.
  2. Place lamb in a large roasting pan; add ale and next 5 ingredients.
  3. Bake, covered, at 375 for 2 hours. Uncover and bake 1 more hour. Skim fat from drippings.
  4. Serve lamb shanks and drippings with mashed potatoes.
  5. Garnish, if desired.
  6. Note: For testing purposes only, we used Guinness Stout.
