Ingredients

  •  burrito size flour tortillas 
  • tablespoons butter divided
  • 0.5 cup bottled caramel sauce 
  • teaspoon cinnamon sugar 
  • ounce cream cheese softened
  •  granny smith apples peeled thinly sliced
  • teaspoon juice of lemon 
  • 0.3 cup powdered sugar 
  • servings whipped cream 
  • 0.5 cup walnuts coarsely chopped

Directions

  1. Toss together first 4 ingredients.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; add apple mixture, and saut 5 to 8 minutes or until apples are tender.
  3. Remove apple mixture from skillet; wipe skillet clean.
  4. Stir together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on 1 side of each tortilla; top cream cheese mixture evenly with apple mixture. Fold tortillas in half over apple mixture.
  6. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in skillet over medium heat. Cook 2 quesadillas 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Repeat procedure with remaining butter and quesadillas.
  7. Drizzle with caramel sauce, and top with vanilla ice cream.
  8. Serve immediately.
