  • cup butter softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • cups semisweet chocolate chips miniature
  • tablespoon shortening 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 0.8 cup walnut pieces finely chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. Cream together butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Stir in vanilla.

  4. Place logs 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
