Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 0.7 cup butter 
  • large eggs 
  • 1.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • cup pecans toasted chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • cups semi chocolate chips divided
  • cup sugar 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 0.3 cup water

Directions

  1. Cook first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan over high heat, stirring constantly, until sugar melts.
  2. Add 2 cups chocolate morsels and vanilla extract, stirring until mixture is smooth.
  3. Let cool 15 minutes.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to cooled chocolate mixture, stirring until blended; stir in eggs and chopped pecans until blended.
  5. Spread brownie batter into a greased and floured 13- x 9-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle remaining 2 cups chocolate morsels evenly over warm brownies, and let stand 5 minutes to soften.
  8. Spread over top. Cool on a wire rack.
