Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract 
  • teaspoon baking soda 
  • cup butter softened
  • teaspoon cream of tartar 
  •  eggs 
  • 2.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar 
  • 60 servings granulated sugar 
  • teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated sugar. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  2. Heat oven to 375F. Lightly grease cookie sheet.
  3. Divide dough in half.
  4. Roll each half 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured surface.
  5. Cut into desired shapes with 2- to 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters.
  6. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  7. Place on cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are light brown.
  9. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
