Ingredients

  • cups baking mix 
  • tablespoons butter firm
  • cup cranberries dried
  • 0.7 cup nonfat buttermilk fat-free (skim)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • tablespoon butter melted
  • 0.3 cup sugar 
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla 
  • 0.7 cup walnut pieces chopped
  • tablespoons water

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 42
  2. Pour water over cranberries in 1-quart microwavable dish; cover with plastic wrap, folding back one side to vent. Microwave on High 1 minute. Uncover cranberries; cool.
  3. Mix Bisquick mix, sugar and cinnamon in large bowl.
  4. Cut in 3 tablespoons butter, using pastry blender or crisscrossing 2 knives, until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Stir in butter-milk, vanilla, cranberries and walnuts just until moistened.
  5. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with additional sugar if desired.
  7. Bake 10 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Brush 1 tablespoon melted butter over warm scones and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
