Ingredients

  • 31.6 oz great northern beans drained and rinsed canned
  • oz chilis green chopped canned
  • 14 oz chicken broth canned
  • servings cilantro leaves 
  • 1.5 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • teaspoon ground cumin 
  • cups monterrey jack cheese shredded
  • tablespoon cooking oil 
  •  onion chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon oregano dried
  • teaspoon salt 
  • pound chicken breast boneless skinless cubed
  • oz cream sour
  • cup whipping cream

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; add chicken and onion.
  2. Saute 10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through; set aside.
  3. Combine broth, beans, undrained chiles and seasonings in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add chicken mixture; reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
  5. Add sour cream, stirring well. Top each serving with shredded cheese; garnish, if desired.
