Ingredients

  • 0.5 ounce yeast dry
  • tablespoons butter divided melted
  • 0.5 teaspoon basil dried
  •  eggs 
  • 3.8 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 0.3 teaspoon oregano dried
  • tablespoon parmesan cheese grated
  • cup oats 
  • teaspoons salt 
  • 0.3 cup sugar 
  • cups water boiling

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, pour boiling water over cereal.
  2. Add butter.
  3. Let stand until mixture cools to 120°-130°, stirring occasionally.
  4. In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Beat in oat mixture until moistened.
  5. Add egg. Beat on medium speed for 3 minutes. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a stiff dough.
  6. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
  7. Punch dough down. Press dough into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.
  8. Brush with 4 tablespoons melted butter.
  9. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
  10. Brush with remaining butter.
  11. Combine the cheese, basil, garlic powder and oregano; sprinkle over bread.
  12. Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until golden brown.
