Ingredients

  • slices bacon chopped
  • servings creamy cheddar cheese grits 
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • oz mushrooms fresh sliced
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 0.5 cup green onions thinly sliced
  • teaspoons hot sauce 
  • 0.3 cup juice of lemon fresh
  • pounds shrimp raw unpeeled ()
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

  • frying pan
  • paper towels

Directions

  1. Peel shrimp; devein, if desired. Toss shrimp with flour until lightly coated, shaking to remove excess.
  2. Cook bacon in a medium skillet over medium-high heat 8 to 10 minutes or until crisp.
  3. Remove bacon, and drain on paper towels, reserving drippings in skillet.
  4. Saut mushrooms in hot drippings 4 minutes or just until mushrooms begin to release their liquid.
  5. Add shrimp, and saut 3 to 3 1/2 minutes or just until shrimp turn pink.
  6. Add garlic, and saut 1 minute (do not brown garlic).
  7. Add lemon juice and next 3 ingredients; serve immediately over Creamy Cheddar Cheese Grits.
  8. Sprinkle with bacon.
