  • teaspoon cream of tartar 
  •  eggs 
  • 4.5 cups flour all-purpose sifted
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • cups sugar white

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Sift dry ingredients 3 times; combine thoroughly with egg mixture.
  2. Add vanilla.
  3. Roll in waxed paper and store in refrigerator to chill thoroughly.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  5. Roll out dough very thin on well-floured board; cut with cookie cutter.
  6. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 6 - 10 minutes.
