  • teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.3 teaspoon baking soda 
  • tablespoons butter chilled cut into small pieces
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • tablespoons basil fresh chopped
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk low-fat
  • 0.3 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • tablespoon parmesan cheese fresh shredded finely
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 42
  2. Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife.
  3. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and basil.
  5. Add buttermilk, stirring just until moist.
  6. Spoon dough evenly into 8 mounds on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Lightly coat tops of biscuits with cooking spray, and sprinkle with finely shredded Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake at 425 for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
  8. Serve immediately.
