Ingredients

  • slices bacon 
  • 14.5 ounce canned tomatoes canned
  • 0.5 teaspoon basil dried
  • 1.5 teaspoons parsley dried
  • cloves garlic minced
  •  onion chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • servings salt and pepper to taste
  • ounces pasta like spaghetti

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove from pan, break into 1/2 inch pieces, and set aside.
  3. Drain bacon grease, and return pan to heat.
  4. Saute onions over medium heat until tender. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute more. Stir in bacon and tomatoes. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  6. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  7. Stir basil, oregano and parsley into tomato sauce.
  8. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook 5 minutes more. Toss with hot pasta. Top with grated Parmesan cheese when serving.
