Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound peppered bacon diced
  • 14.5 ounce canned tomatoes diced canned
  • teaspoon basil dried
  • teaspoons garlic minced
  • tablespoons green onion chopped
  • servings ground pepper black to taste
  • tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
  • 16 ounce linguine pasta 
  • teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.
  2. Drain, reserving drippings, and set aside.
  3. Saute green onion and garlic in bacon drippings over medium heat for one minute. Stir in tomatoes, basil, salt and ground black pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  5. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  6. Toss hot pasta with sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
