Ingredients

  • slices bacon 
  • 0.5 lb turkey sausage italian lean
  • large baking potatoes cut into 1/2-inch cubes ( 4 cups)
  • cup onion chopped
  • cloves garlic finely chopped
  • teaspoon seasoning italian
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper red crushed
  • cups water 
  • 3.5 cups chicken broth reduced-sodium (from 32-oz carton)
  • cups swiss chard fresh chopped
  • can cannellini beans rinsed drained (15)
  • cup skim milk fat-free

Directions

  1. In 4-quart nonstick saucepan or Dutch oven, cook bacon until crisp; drain on paper towel. Crumble bacon; set aside.
  2. Remove and discard drippings from saucepan.
  3. In same saucepan, cook sausage over medium-high heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until no longer pink.
  4. Drain well on paper towels; set aside.
  5. In same saucepan, mix potatoes, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, pepper flakes, water and broth.
  6. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cook uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in bacon, sausage, kale and beans. Cook 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes and kale are tender. Stir in half-and-half; cook just until heated.
