Ingredients

  • tablespoons brown sugar packed
  • tablespoon pepper 
  • tablespoon paprika 
  • tablespoon onion powder 
  • tablespoon coarse salt 
  • tablespoon garlic powder 
  • tablespoon ground mustard 
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cumin 
  • 1.5 teaspoons chili powder 
  • 3.5 lb brisket 
  • cup barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. In small bowl, stir together all ingredients except beef and barbecue sauce. Rub mixture over beef.
  2. Place in resealable food-storage plastic bag; refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.
  3. In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker; place beef; pour barbecue over top.
  4. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 hours.
  5. Increase heat setting to High; cook 1 to 2 hours longer or until beef falls apart.
  6. Serve with additional barbecue sauce.
