Ingredients

  • lb beef chuck trimmed of fat cut into 3/4-inch pieces
  • 16 oz pinto beans rinsed drained canned
  • 15 oz beans red rinsed drained progresso® canned
  • tablespoons chili powder 
  • 12 oz beer dark room temperature
  • 29 oz canned tomatoes diced fire roasted organic undrained muir glen® canned
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose gold medal®
  • cloves garlic finely chopped
  • cup onion chopped
  • teaspoon salt 
  • oz sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • tablespoons tomato paste 
  • tablespoon cocoa powder unsweetened
  • tablespoon vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Spray 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In large resealable food-storage plastic bag, place beef and flour; seal bag and shake to coat. In 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook beef in oil, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides.
  2. Place beef in slow cooker.
  3. Add beer to skillet, stirring and scraping to loosen brown particles. Cook 1 minute.
  4. Pour over beef in slow cooker.
  5. Add remaining ingredients except cheese.
  6. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 hours.
  7. Sprinkle individual servings with cheese.
