  • 30 oz pinto beans undrained canned
  • 28 oz canned tomatoes diced whole undrained coarsely chopped canned ()
  • tablespoon chili powder 
  • teaspoons chipotle chili powder 
  • 0.5 cup cilantro leaves fresh chopped
  • cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 0.1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • teaspoons ground cumin 
  • 1.5 lb ground beef 80% lean (at least )
  • cup onion chopped
  • 16 oz salsa thick
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • teaspoons paprika smoked
  • tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened

Directions

  1. In 12-inch skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain.
  2. In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, mix beef mixture and remaining ingredients except cilantro.
  3. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 8 hours. Top individual servings with cilantro.
