  • tablespoons butter melted
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper 
  •  leg-thigh chicken pieces skinless
  • 0.3 cup cilantro leaves fresh chopped
  • tablespoons ginger fresh minced peeled
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • teaspoon ground coriander 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground pepper black
  • teaspoon ground turmeric 
  • tablespoons juice of lemon fresh
  • small onion red separated thinly sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon saffron threads crumbled
  • teaspoon salt 
  • cups whole-milk yogurt plain

Directions

  1. Blend 1 cup yogurt and next 10 ingredients in processor until smooth.
  2. Transfer to large bowl.
  3. Mix in remaining 1 cup yogurt.
  4. Add chicken and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat).
  6. Place marinade-coated chicken on barbecue. Grill chicken until just cooked through, occasionally basting with butter last 2 minutes, about 12 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer chicken to platter. Top with onion and cilantro and serve.
